Ruble falls to 2-year lows amid sanctions risks, falling oil prices

MOSCOW, Aug 8 (PRIME) -- The Russian ruble with tomorrow settlement fell 1.56 rubles against the U.S. dollar to 65.05 rubles by 7:35 p.m. Moscow time on the Moscow Exchange on Wednesday, renewing the record low of November 2016, amid risks of new U.S. sanctions and falling oil prices, the exchange’s data said.

The ruble fell 1.77 rubles against the euro to 75.42 rubles.

Oil prices decreased 3.7% to U.S. $71.88 per barrel.
